Pet Sliding Door Installation

The height of the doggy door depends on the height of the doggy.

Place the template in the desired location on the door at least 3 inches above the bottom edge of the door. Pet doors must be installed at least 1 above the tallest part of the dog s back and at least 3 from the floor. Based on this height you ll adjust the height of your sliding glass dog door. You can measure this from the inside of the upper track to the inside of the lower one.

Cut out the template as instructed. Every door is different so it s important to consider ease of installation when selecting which door you want to install the doggie door in. Those measurements should be based on the flap dimension not the pet door frame. Install the lock glass sweep and weather stripping.

Attach to the bottom or middle panel of the pop up pet door nearest the sliding door frame. The best thing to do is to measure your pet and know exactly the measurements you need. If your pet door doesn t include a template use the plastic slide as a template. The new panel features glass on top and a pet door flap at the bottom.

Slide the insert into the sliding door frame.
