Putting a garage door opener up.
Attach the straps to the irons with hex head screws.
Securely mounted hardware and rails.
Bolt the angle irons to a rafter or rafters with lag screws.
If the eyes aren t connected the door won t operate.
Close the door and pull the emergency release cord always close the door first so it can t come crashing down.
Attach the bracket the opener came with to the wall above the door and then insert the end of the assembly into it.
Make sure the garage door is balanced.
Lean the end of the assembly opposite the motor compartment up above the garage door.
Most units hang from angle irons and metal straps that have holes drilled in them at regular intervals.
Open your door halfway and let go.
If the door moves up or down on its own the torsion spring is out of adjustment which causes your opener to work harder and wear out faster.
Attach the straps to the power unit with the hardware provided.
Connect the bracket and the end of the assembly as directed in the installation instructions.
